Koena Mitra

Koena Mitra (born 7 January 1984). is an Indian actress and model who appears in Bollywood flims. Koena Mitra was born in Kolkata, West Bengal to a Bengali Hindu family. Mitra attended South Point High School and Lady Brabourne College of the University of Calcutta.














Mitra was trained with the Mamata Shankar ballet troupe for 12 years.and she trained in western dance forms, basket ball, swimming and tennis. her dream was to be an athlete, she started her career too early and that had created a lot of tension in her family, she mad mentioned that on a TV show right after winning the tittle.














She had almost bag packed and left her house, she was in high school when she won the all India tittle. While in school, Mitra pursued a career in modeling. Koena Mitra is a lethal combination of beauty with brains. Being a major in psychology she knew that her svelte figure, her chiseled features and her striking beauty were perfect weapons to make a mark in the fashion industry.














Coming to Mumbai in 2002 she took the city by storm conquering the stage and winning one of the biggest beauty pageants Gladrags Mega Model India 2003. She later on went on to become the 1st runner up of Miss Intercontinental in Germany out of 84 countries.














Thereafter, there has been no looking back for her. Over the years, Koena has done commercials like for Mirinda, Clinic All Clear, Maruti Alto, Jewellery and beauty products; she has done many fashion weeks even in Milan and Beijing.












She featured in quite a few music videos like Stereo Nation’s “Ishq”, “Aaj Ki Raat”, “Akh Teri”, “Channo” by Jassi. Her dream of being on the silver screen fell in place after her special appearance in Ram Gopal Verma's "Road". It was ‘Musafir’ her first film where she completely stole the show , and she delivered hits like ‘Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena’, a film that had the critics talking about her and which won her great reviews. She followed it up with ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ which became one of the most bankable movies on the box office and kept the cinema halls occupied for over 150 days.
